Designed for beginners, this easy to use toolkit is bursting with ideas for teachers seeking to introduce their pupils to digital art.
Step-by-step tutorials introduce you to the tools and functions of Windows Paint while also helping you get the best from ‘Paint’, which comes free with Microsoft Windows.
Designed by Dave Broadield and Ann Aston (formerly of Robin Hood Junior and Infant School, Birmingham) this toolkit includes classroom projects and activities for children aged 5 to 11.
There are sample planning units of work for teachers but the tutorials are designed to allow older pupils to work independently. Teachers and pupils can dip in to find what interests them.
Note: The classroom activities are aimed at a primary school audience, but much of the information about how to use the software is relevant to teachers of all age groups.
Dave and Ann have set up a website where pupils from different schools using the toolkit can share and comment on each other's digital art, and even collaborate on joint artwork.
