5th iNet International Conference, 26 28 November 2008

This year a consortium of educators from East London won a Partnership Award presented by the SSAT as part of a London-wide series of partnership celebrations. It is customary for awarding partners to offer prizes to winners, and SSAT was proud to broker a study tour for eight student teachers and educators early in May, generously sponsored by and facilitated in South Africa by Khanya.

The students are busy compiling a report to expand upon their visit, which included:

• Giving a presentation to educators from the Western Cape
• Visits to four schools – two English speaking, one Afrikaans speaking and one Xhosx
• A meeting with Khanya to review the use of technology in education
• Meetings with both officials and the Minister in the Western Cape, and officials in the Eastern Cape
• A visit to Stellenbosh University
