headteachers, chaired by a headteacher with a growing international
reputation.

Khanya / iNet Conference in Eden Karoo - June 2008
On Friday 20 June 2008 the Eden Karoo District Khanya team,
together with iNet SA, held a very successful conference for
school principals at the Protea Hotel, Wilderness.

xenophobia
The Western Cape education department's Khanya project is using
technology to carry anti-xenophobia messages to school pupils.
Westcoast inspires technology integration at conference
Khanya’s Westcoast EMDC hosted a very informative and highly
successful conference on Friday 18 April 2008 at the Groenvlei
Conference Centre in Riebeek West.
Consortium of educators win Partnership Award
This year a consortium of educators from East London won a
Partnership Award presented by the SSAT as part of a London-wide
series of partnership celebrations.
The Annual iNet (South Africa) Conference
At the Western Cape Sport School in February, addressed a vital
and practical topic: A Principal’s Guide to Global
Communication.
iNet network begins work in Lesotho
iNet now has its first affiliate in Lesotho, Maseru
English Medium Preparatory School.
South Africa
The South Africa principals' steering group has met five
times in 2008 and has reformed to represent all the different
districts. Planning for further events is taking place.
Several key decisions were taken:
- A local iNet rep has been appointed. Chas Ahrends is our
rep in association with Khanya
- The first 2008 iNet/Khanya conference took place on 15
February, and a three day event will take
place in October
- To facilitate participation in iNet's online
conferences a series of workshops are being arranged
