On 29th January 2007 the Mauritian Ministry of Education and Human Resources took the ‘epoch-making’ decision to affiliate each one of its 450 primary and secondary schools to iNet in order to support its educational reforms.
The Ministry of Education and Human Resources recently outlined a new approach to education in order to address global changes. The expected outcomes of this educational reform include:
iNet will play an important role within the reform movement. It will establish a system where strong schools are able to help weaker ones. Schools will be given the freedom to be creative, and will adapt to cope with a range of external influences.
Mauritius is the first country to affiliate all of its schools and is one of the world’s most successful multi-cultural communities. It is well-placed to contribute to a global network of schools committed to transformation.
