Beijing Huijia Private School was established in 1993. It is the first all-boarding private school in Beijing where Chinese students and foreign students study together. It is a member school of the International Baccalaureate Organization’s Diploma Program, one of the experimental schools approved by Beijing Municipal Education Commission to carry out comprehensive educational reforms, and a member of the Beijing UNESCO club.
The school has 7 teaching and research departments:
The school has gradually evolved a range of teaching programs reflecting its standing as a private school of advanced international level.
Engagement with the Towards the Olympics project started in earnest this March. Around 60 students in the junior 1 and junior 2 classes of our bilingual middle school are taking part. We have set up the school’s pages in the Uniservity online community and have added profiles for our students. Our students are finding the community easy to use, and they are in touch with students from our partner school, The Desborough School in Maidenhead, England. Our students are taught bilingually, and already have a good grasp of the English language and culture. Therefore, the online discussions tend to centre more around academic subjects. They have also been talking about their everyday life and their local area
We are looking forward to continuing our involvement this summer, as the project is a great motivator for students in both countries to learn and exchange from each other.
