The European Platform was established in 1990 by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as the Dutch national coordinating centre for internationalisation of Dutch education. It is mandated to introduce and integrate a European and international dimension in Dutch education and to support the internationalisation of education in the Netherlands.
An excellent relationship has already begun to develop between schools in England and those in the Netherlands. Now, through iNet, plans are in place to extend these opportunities to link with schools in other countries across the iNet network to share and develop innovative practice.
iNet and the European Platform therefore have many common interests and objectives and, at a recent meeting in London, Chief Executive, Elizabeth Reid was joined by Drs J Divis, Director of the European Platform, to sign a Memorandum of Understanding. This document sets out the commitment to work collaboratively for the mutual benefit of both organisations and to link school networks from England and the Netherlands through a variety of projects and events.
